“I Want a Family,’ Singer Speed Darlington Laments Being Unmarried
Controversial Nigerian singer and rapper Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has expressed regret over remaining unmarried and childless, saying he longs for a family as he grows older.
In a recent video shared online, the entertainer reflected on his personal life, admitting that despite his achievements, he feels something important is missing.
“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life. I want family, freedom and respect,” he said.
His remarks have reignited public discussion about his long-standing search for a life partner.
Several years ago, Speed Darlington publicly declared that he was looking for a wife and outlined the qualities he desired in an ideal partner. According to him, she should be dark-skinned, between the ages of 18 and 23, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh less than 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.
Despite making his preferences known, the outspoken entertainer has yet to find a wife.
