**Okpe Forum Endorses Oborevwori for Second Term, Cites Development Strides**

The Okpe Peoples’ Forum (OPF), a pan-Okpe socio-political and cultural organisation, has endorsed Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for a second term in office, citing what it described as his remarkable achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education and economic empowerment over the past three years.

The forum also called on Deltans across ethnic, political and religious divides to support the governor’s re-election bid in the 2027 governorship election.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Igho Akeregha, and Secretary, Edward Emoyadua Agba, the group congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election.

The forum also commended the party for conducting what it described as a peaceful and transparent primary process that strengthened unity within its ranks.

Expressing confidence in the governor’s leadership, the group stated that his administration had delivered people-centred projects and programmes through the M.O.R.E Agenda, which focuses on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enduring Peace and Security.

According to the forum, the administration has recorded significant achievements in road construction, urban renewal, youth and small business empowerment, healthcare delivery and educational development across the state.

“In just three years in office, the Okpe people and indeed many Deltans are satisfied that Governor Oborevwori has surpassed expectations through his commitment to the rapid transformation of the state. We therefore support his re-election in 2027 to consolidate on the gains already recorded,” the statement said.

The group highlighted the construction of major roads, bridges and flyovers across Delta State’s 25 local government areas, as well as the completion of a modern five-storey High Court Complex in Asaba aimed at enhancing judicial administration and access to justice.

It further noted that the administration had expanded economic empowerment programmes through grants and support initiatives for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, skilled workers and vulnerable groups under the Delta CARES programme.

On healthcare, the forum commended the rehabilitation and upgrading of primary healthcare centres across the state, alongside the implementation of free maternal and child healthcare services. It added that improvements at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital had enhanced access to quality medical care for residents.

The group also praised the government’s investment in education, including the payment of bursaries to thousands of students and increased funding for tertiary institutions, colleges of education and health training institutions.

According to the forum, prudent financial management by the administration has enabled the state to continue executing major projects while servicing existing obligations without contracting fresh loans over the last three years.

While expressing satisfaction with the governor’s performance, the forum urged the administration to intensify efforts in addressing lingering challenges relating to electricity supply, food security, industrialisation and unemployment.

The group expressed confidence that a second term would enable Governor Oborevwori to consolidate ongoing development projects, deepen economic growth and sustain peace, stability and prosperity across Delta State.

“As stakeholders in the progress of Delta State, we believe Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated the capacity, vision and commitment required to take the state to greater heights. We therefore urge all Deltans to support his re-election in 2027 for the continued advancement of the state,” the statement added.
